Build Automation Workflows
Automate your email sequences with powerful visual workflows. Build sophisticated email automation without writing code.
What are Workflows?
Workflows are visual automation sequences that trigger emails based on events, conditions, and time delays. They enable you to create sophisticated email campaigns that respond to user behavior, schedule follow-ups, and nurture leads automatically.
With our drag-and-drop workflow builder, you can design complex email sequences without writing any code. Simply connect triggers, actions, and conditions to create powerful automation.
Triggers & Actions
Respond to events like webhooks, scheduled times, or user actions with automated email sequences.
- Webhook triggers
- Scheduled triggers
- Event-based triggers
Conditional Logic
Branch workflows based on user behavior, email engagement, or custom conditions.
- If/else branching
- Engagement-based paths
Time Delays
Schedule emails at precise intervals - minutes, hours, or days after the trigger event.
- Minute-level precision
- Hour/days delays
Near Real-time Execution
Workflows execute in almost real-time with second latency for immediate responses.
- Sub-second triggers
- Parallel execution
- Reliable delivery
Common Use Cases
Workflows can be used across various industries and scenarios. Here are some common implementations:
E-commerce
- Welcome sequences for new customers
- Abandoned cart recovery
- Post-purchase follow-ups
- Review requests
SaaS
- Onboarding drips
- Feature announcements
- Trial expiration reminders
- Upgrade prompts
Marketing
- Lead nurturing
- Content delivery
- Webinar reminders
- Event follow-ups
Available Workflow Nodes
Workflows consist of various node types that you can connect to create automation sequences. Here are all available nodes and their configuration options:
Trigger Nodes
Trigger
Workflow entry point - defines how the workflow starts
- triggerType: Required - contact_event, email_event, scheduled, or incoming_webhook
- contactEvent: Required for contact_event triggers (e.g., subscriber_added, subscriber_removed)
- emailEvent: Required for email_event triggers
- subscriptionGroupId: Required for scheduled triggers and subscriber events
- scheduledAt: Required for scheduled triggers (must be future date/time)
Logic Nodes
Condition
Branch workflow based on contact data or custom conditions
- rules: Required - Array of condition rules with field, operator, and value
- Edge labels: true/false for branching paths
Delay
Wait a specified duration before proceeding
- duration: Duration to wait (e.g., "1h", "30m", "2d")
- until: Target date/time (alternative to duration)
Wait for Event
Wait for email engagement events (open/click)
- event: Required - Event type (e.g., "open", "click")
- Requirement: Must have a Send Email node before it
- Edge labels: event_received, timeout
A/B Split
Split contacts into test groups for experimentation
- variants: Required - Array of at least 2 variants
- Edge labels: variant_A, variant_B, variant_C, etc.
Action Nodes
Send Email
Send an email using a template
- templateId: Required - Email template ID
- fromAddress: Required - Sender email address
- subject: Required - Email subject line
Add Tag
Add a tag to the contact
- tag: Required - Tag name to add
Remove Tag
Remove a tag from the contact
- tag: Required - Tag name to remove
Add to Group
Add contact to a subscription group
- subscriptionGroupId: Required - Subscription group ID
Remove from Group
Remove contact from a subscription group
- subscriptionGroupId: Required - Subscription group ID
Update Contact
Update contact fields with custom data
- fields: Object with field names and values
- fieldsJson: JSON string with field names and values (alternative)
Webhook
Send HTTP POST to external URL
- url: Required - Webhook URL to POST to
End Node
End
Mark workflow as complete
- Configuration: None required
Workflow Settings
- Reentry Policy: once, always, cooldown_days_7, cooldown_days_30
- Scope: global, campaign, contact_list
- Status: draft, active, paused, archived
- Maximum nodes: 20 nodes per workflow
- Maximum edges: 20 edges per workflow
Pricing
Workflow execution is based on a credit system. Each node in your workflow consumes credits from your account.
Workflow node cost 1 credit per execution. If your account has insufficient credits, the workflow will be paused automatically.
Getting Started
Follow these steps to create your first workflow:
- Navigate to Workflows: Go to the Workflows section in your dashboard
- Create New Workflow: Click "Create Workflow" to start building
- Add Trigger: Choose a trigger event (webhook, schedule, or custom event)
- Add Actions: Add email send actions with your templates
- Add Conditions: Optionally add conditional logic for branching
- Add Delays: Set time delays between actions if needed
- Activate & Test: Test your workflow.
Best Practices
Follow these best practices to ensure your workflows are effective and maintain good deliverability:
Keep Workflows Simple
Start with simple workflows and gradually add complexity. Complex workflows can be harder to debug and maintain.
Test Thoroughly
Always test your workflows with sample data before deploying to production to ensure they work as expected.
Monitor Performance
Regularly review workflow performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Respect User Preferences
Always honor unsubscribe requests and user preferences to maintain good sender reputation.
